Drilling is one of the most used conventional processes. The option of removing cutting fluids has gained ground in scientific studies. However, there are many problems with the cutting temperature and adhesive wear mechanism. These can be mitigated by adopting coating technology. In this study, the influence of the feed (f), cutting speed (Vc), and tool condition (with and without DLC coating) on the behavior of Rq, Rsk, and Rku roughness parameters was investigated during dry drilling of an aluminum alloy. The range of Rsk and Rku values obtained was similar to those in other studies. The significant influence of the Vc was verified in Rq and Rsk. The effect of DLC on roughness was not significant. The predominant formation of the adhesive wear mechanism was verified.
